During the First World War (1914-1918), soldiers ordered a cease-fire truce during Christmas time, so soldiers wouldn’t have to fight on the holiday. Soldiers from opposing forces exchanged cigarettes and other goods, and even engaged in activities like football, as depicted in this photo from 1915. This Christmas Truce is now seen as a symbolic moment of peace amidst one of the bloodiest battles ever fought in history.
#tbt to 2012 and some crazy opportunities to dabble in the world of voiceover!
seeing as this is my photo, i’m not a huge fan of other people (dozens of other blogs now) deleting the credit off of it. if you’re going to remove any credit to any of my photos, do me a favor and just don’t even post the photo. i’d rather they go unnoticed than get noticed at all with improper credit.
